Professional Summary

I grew up knowing that I wanted to help people; I just did not know how or where, until I first began working as an 'action therapist' and I started back in 2017 on a team.

My learning journey began right after high school; I went straight to university, graduated in 2018, with an Advanced ‘Bachelor of Arts’ Degree, where I majored in ‘Indigenous studies’ and minored in ‘Sociology’ that encompasses psychology, health and changing lifestyles, business and entrepreneurship, criminal justice, social justice, women and gender studies, Indigenous feminisms, mental health disorders, law and international history to name a few.

In 2020, I went back to university until 2023, where I graduated with a Master’s of Arts Degree in ‘Indigenous studies’. My research was on, ‘The Way Forward: Understanding the impacts of intergenerational trauma on First Nations youth and the effectiveness of peer mentorship programs to promote healing’. I placed an emphasis on the importance of programs such as Action Therapy as there is very little to no research on it available.

Simultaneously, I attended the ‘Focusing Oriented Therapy’ program in 2021 and graduated by 2022; it is an Indigenous based model on trauma informed practice, therapy and counselling.

My academic area of focus centres around Indigenous knowledge, understanding trauma, history and spiritual aspects of healing, truth and reconciliation. My work and career is focused on issues impacting Indigenous youth and families; to be a support and help them as a positive role model, leader and mentor in the community.

By 2024, I had moved on and moved forward from the team I worked with as an 'action therapist', and embarked on starting my own business, under my name and continuing the work I love and advocate for the young people.

I am going back to university in 2026 to work towards a ‘Master’s in Social Work- Indigenous knowledge’ degree and become a registered social worker. I would like to use this degree towards growing within my field of work and furthering opportunities.

I am an advocate and passionate for the work we do, in the relationships we form and providing the love and care to those who need it the most. I have been trained for this since I was a child, I have worked extremely hard in my education, community involvement and my work experience that has been built from about 2007 till 2025 that spans at least 18 years.
